About

Hey, I’m Pete. I travel a lot, I eat weird stuff, and I’m always chasing a bit of adventure.

Sand in My Shoe is where I share the good, the strange, and everything that makes travel more fun (and less frustrating).

You’ll find real tips here—tested routes, honest advice, and the occasional surprise—because while I like my trips smooth, I’ve learned that the best memories usually come from the unexpected.

If you’re into offbeat destinations, street food that looks questionable but tastes amazing, and avoiding tourist traps without missing out—this blog’s for you.

Why Sand in My Shoe?

I named this blog Sand in My Shoe because travel always leaves something behind. Whether it’s a bit of grit from an unexpected detour, a sunburn from a day on the beach, or a memory from standing in a place you’ve seen in postcards — the best parts of travel tend to linger.

This blog is about all of it: the strange, the spontaneous, and the classic. I write about weird foods and backroad adventures, but also the big-name sights that are famous for a reason. Because whether you’re getting lost in a night market or queuing up at a world wonder, it’s all part of the journey — and sometimes, all of it ends up in your shoe.
